A Note To a Rock Solid Parent,
My name is Giuseppe Aliotta Owner of West Coast Martial arts Academy, After Many Years of running Successful Martial Arts Academies on the East Coast, back in November of 2003 I opened the doors of our very first West Coast Martial Arts Academy here in beautiful Encinitas, San Diego, Ca. After the Positive impact it has had on the local community, Our staff of skilled Professional black belts Educators and I decided to open our second location in Rancho Bernardo. Teaching kids martial arts and character education to children starting at the tender ages of 4 years old.
Since my humble beginnings, we have educated thousands of students through our kids martial arts classes about personal safety, bully awareness, stranger danger and of course self-defense.
Many of these children are now adult instructors for West Coast Martial Arts Academy while others that have spent 10 plus years with us have gone on to college to become successful, both personally and professionally.
Most impressive for us has been teaching kids martial arts classes to students with Autism, ADD, ADHD, PDD and other situations. Watching these children become successful junior black & black belts in our schools is what teaching kids martial arts is all about.

This is seriously the best place on earth for kids to reside outside their homes. Master Sifu and Sempai Jen are two of the most respectable people I have ever come across. Their ways with the kids, the shy ones, the rowdy ones, the small ones, the big ones, the young ones, the older ones, the bullied and the bullies, are rooted in encouragement through respect. Their manner is tough, but sensitive; and the kids are expected to be outside the dojo what they are taught on the mats. We’ve moved out of state for a year, and have called them several times so my kids can ask for advice on bullying, as them and I still consider them students. They treat you like family and they have cared for my kids as such. There’s always fun functions, parents night out opportunities, belt testing, working toward patches, etc. The best part about it is that this is a non-competitive environment for kids to learn an activity, something hard to find in North County.

My two boys, Zachary (10) and Nathan (6), have been going to WCMAA for about 3 mos now. They both love going to their classes 2-3 times a week and eagerly finish their homework early so they can go. Hank and Will and all the other assistants work great with the kids and they all take the time to make sure all the students are learning new skills and challenges and working towards their goal of advancing to the next belt. In addition to learning martial arts, my boys are also learning about discipline, how to be respectful towards others and how dedication and hard work can help you achieve success in all aspects of their lives. This is definitely a positive influence and unlike some other sports we sometimes force upon them, they thoroughly enjoy going to their martial arts and parkour classes!!!

We take our job as Instructors and success coaches very seriously.
We know that we can make a difference and we have been developing innovative and successful systems for over 20 years. All of our kids martial arts classes are taught in a safe, fun and energizing environment. Your child is developing habits everyday; anything they do over and over again will become a habit. Good habits are easy to live with, however, they can be tough to develop on their own. Most people need a coach and that’s where we come in. Unfortunately, bad habits are easy to develop and are very tough to live with. Our teaching style is based on positive coaching, goal setting and lot’s of encouragement. We never give up on kids; we always team up and we have plenty of success stories to keep us committed to instilling habits of excellence in the lives of children. The vast majority of our Junior Black Belt Leaders are high-academic achievers, great kids and highly athletic. The majority don’t start that way, with time, training and teamwork, we have seen thousands of kids become highly successful in every aspect of their life.
How do you get your child started?
It’s easy to start. We start by scheduling a FREE PRIVATE LESSON for your child with one of our highly trained and Nationally Certified Instructors. We require a parent or legal guardian to be present so that we can get to know you and your child better. At the same time, we will give you a tour of our training facility; educate you about our school, our staff and the programs we offer. You will have the chance to see if our program is right for you and your family. There is no cost or obligation for the evaluation. Our tuition rates are reasonable, competitive and affordable.
